Lower Shavertown Bridge is a small wooden covered bridge over Trout Creek in Hancock, New York, and one of only a few surviving covered bridges in the state. Built in 1877 in the hamlet of Shaverton to cross Lower Beech Hill Brook, it was moved in 1954 to its present site at Methol, where the 19th-century structure continued in use on a different stream. Measuring 32 feet long, it is a single-span road bridge with a wood-plank frame and gable roof. Its importance rests on preserving a once-common rural bridge form that has become rare, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
