A hardware store has occupied this site continuously since 1844, when J. O. Crooker was the first proprietor. The present brick structure, built in 1867, survived the fire of 1894. L. M. Longley came to Norway in 1898 as a plumber, and in 1902 he moved into the brick hardware store on Main Street to combine plumbing and hardware. The business remains in the family as a third generation operation.
