Eddie's House in San Anselmo, California, was a tiny doghouse Frank Lloyd Wright designed for the Berger family's black Labrador, Eddie, to complement the nearby Robert Berger House. Prompted by 12-year-old Jim Berger's letters, Wright sent working drawings in 1957 for a four-square-foot triangular structure using leftover Philippine mahogany and cedar. Built in 1963 by Robert Berger and Eric Berger after Jim entered the U.S. Army, it echoed the house's geometry and roofline, though the family altered parts of the plan. Eddie favored the front door instead, and the doghouse was later discarded. Jim and Eric rebuilt it from Wright's plans in 2010.
