Lysander Spooner was born here on January 19, 1808, and became a champion of liberty, lawyer, abolitionist, entrepreneur, legal theorist, and scholar. In this house he wrote "The Unconstitutionality of Slavery" and other works. Spooner died in Boston and is buried in Forest Hills Cemetery.
