Built in 1905, the Balboa Pavilion was the hub of the original Balboa land development and the terminus for the Pacific Electric railway from Los Angeles. It was restored in 1962 by Ducommun Realty Company. Its cupola has long served as a navigational aid and is marked on harbor charts.
