Built in 1882 and expanded in 1906 with more offices, a dining room, kitchen, and bathrooms, this Italianate building housed the Ukiah chapter of IOOF, which had formed in 1870. Its building was the grandest structure of its time and remains one of the oldest and most original structures downtown. Open to any man, the Odd Fellows provided burials for members, family insurance, and socialization, and IOOF became an important cultural institution as the West was being settled.
