Greenhorn Mountain Wilderness is a protected area in southern Colorado, northwest of Walsenburg, within the San Isabel and Pike National Forests. It includes the summit of Greenhorn Mountain, the highest point in the Wet Mountains. The wilderness contains 11 miles of trails, all in its northern half. Its importance is in safeguarding a high section of the Wet Mountains while maintaining access to Greenhorn Mountain as the range’s highest summit.
