First National Bank of Webster Springs
Industry
1
A bank begun in Webster Springs in 1901 grew prosperous enough to receive national accreditation in 1906 and be chartered as the First National Bank of Webster Springs. Its brick and limestone building on Court Square, completed in 1925, became the bank’s home and was hailed as one of the best bank buildings in that part of the state. In 1934 it was succeeded by the Webster Springs National Bank, in 1982 the name changed to Webster County National Bank, and in 1988 it was purchased by United Bank, which has operated it since then.
