After receiving 56 sponsorship rejections, Carl E. Stotz persevered and in 1939 made his dream a reality when Williamsport, Pennsylvania, became the birthplace of Little League Baseball. He founded Little League and gave a part of Americana to the world. Those who knew him saw a man of profound integrity and character, and he remained known as Mr. Little League.
