In 1938, Major and Jimmy Gehron inspired Little League Baseball, which practiced at Uncle Tuck's, Carl E. Stotz, in 1939. Among the founders and first generation of volunteer personnel and sponsors were Max Border, born 1927 and died 1999, manager in 1960 and 1961 for Lycoming Dairy, who also sponsored Border's team as a replacement for Lycoming Dairy and served as a long-time board member and past president of the board of directors; Marlin Dillon, 1921-2001, a long-time original board member who followed winning seasons as a Minor League and Major League manager for Lundys and had been a league member since 1953; John Miller, a scorekeeper for over 30 years, Minor League manager, Major League manager, long-time board member, and league member since 1965; William E. Fritz, Sr., a past league president, vice president, umpire in chief, long-time league board member, and league member since 1969; Charles M. Mextorf, original league historian, who became a league member in 1977, coached Park Pizza in 1977, served as assistant manager for Sunset Ice Cream in 1978, 1979, and 1980, umpired in 1983, 1984, and again in 2012, served as league president in 1987, sat on the board of directors from 1993 to date, and chaired the rules committee; and Carl Young, Border's team manager, league treasurer, umpire in chief, league board member, and league member since 1975.
