Bald Mountain is the highest peak in the Pine Grove Hills of Lyon County, Nevada, and the county’s most topographically prominent mountain. By that measure, it ranks eighty-second among Nevada’s most prominent peaks. Located within the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, it rises within a broad public landscape of high desert ranges and forested uplands.
