The lone cedar tree east of here was planted by Leander Neri Bulter at the birth of his daughter Eva in 1894, and it is one of the earliest trees planted in the area. Leander Neri Butler was the son of Leander Butler, one of the five Butler brothers who were early settlers of the area. In 1881, Leander Butler sold 20 acres of his property to the Deseret News Company, and the original paper mill was built on his property.
