Mount Olympus, in Utah’s Wasatch Range east of Holladay, is one of the Salt Lake Valley’s most recognizable landmarks because of its prominent position, distinctive profile, twin peaks, and rocky outcroppings. Its highest point, Summit Peak, reaches 9,030 feet above sea level and rises about 4,800 feet above the valley floor, creating a dramatic backdrop to the urban area below. The mountain is also a well-known hiking destination, with a steep 3.1-mile trail and a final scramble section near the top that has led to many rescues. Near its base lies Neffs Cave, Utah’s second deepest cave.
