Rev. Beriah Hotchkin A.M. founded this church and served as its pastor from A.D. 1793 until A.D. 1824. He was the first American missionary west of the Hudson River, and was remembered as a godly man, a profound theologian, an able preacher, and a faithful and revered pastor and friend.
