Timucuan is one of the last unspoiled coastal wetlands on the Atlantic Coast, encompassing six thousand years of human history and the beauty of salt marshes, coastal dunes, and hardwood hammocks. The preserve includes Fort Caroline and Kingsley Plantation. The area has mild winters and hot summers, with winter average highs in the 60's and lows in the 40's, while summer temperatures reach into the 90's.
