Eddie Williamson was Bend's first major auto dealer. He arrived in Bend with his family as a youngster in 1916, and although his family later moved to Eugene while he was still young, he stayed behind and learned the automobile business. After owning several service stations and a garage, he bought this building in 1936 and named it Eddie's Sales and Service. He served as Bend's Chrysler dealer for 40 years, becoming a highly visible salesman who promoted a "meet or beat" pricing philosophy. The dealership, with its massive lava rock pillars, became the landmark known today as Eddie's Corner.
