William L. Barker served as president of the Warrick County Historical Society from 1922 to 1927 and as president of the Southwestern Indiana Historical Society from 1929 to 1931, and he performed important service in establishing, through verified statements from pioneers, the historical record of Abraham Lincoln’s early visits to Boonville while Lincoln was living in this region.
