On April 19, 1995, the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building brought explosion, devastation, loss, recovery, and rebuilding to Oklahoma City. Family members of those killed, survivors, and rescue workers recount the event and its aftermath in their own words. Chaos in the moments just after the bombing is conveyed through large murals and damaged artifacts. A Gallery of Honor recognizes each of the 168 people killed, displaying artifacts selected by their families alongside photographs to help others understand the lives that were lost. Hope is expressed through a mini-theater, 1,000 golden cranes, and other symbols that challenge each person to reflect.
