At sixty-seven East Road in Adams, Massachusetts, the house where Susan B. Anthony was born on February 15, 1820 preserves the setting of her early childhood and the wider Anthony family’s place in local Quaker, educational, and industrial life. Built in 1817 by David Anthony for his son Daniel, the Federal-style home also reflects the family’s business activity, including Daniel’s store and later cotton-yarn mill.
