Robert Henry Sunkle was born on November 15, 1863, to Louis and Rosina Sunkle. He graduated from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, in 1889 and married Clara Viola Karch of Mount Hope in 1890. Their son, Hunter Robb, and daughter, Judith Elizabeth, were born to them. From 1891 to 1895, Sunkle was principal of Millersburg High School, then graduated from Western Reserve Medical School in 1898 and served his internship at Lakeside Hospital. From 1899 to 1929, he lived and practiced medicine on the west side of Cleveland in the Clark West 25 Street area. He died on February 16, 1929, and his wife died in 1955.
