This memorial was erected in grateful recognition of all those who, from the settlement of Kingston in 1694 to 1924, served the town in its wars for freedom, union, and the rights of humanity, and it was dedicated on May 30th, 1924. A second dedication honored the men and women of Kingston who served their country in World War II, with the words, “For what they were and all they did, remember them today,” and was dedicated on August 10, 1946.
