The Brothers Wilderness is a federally designated wilderness area in Olympic National Forest on the eastern side of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. Encompassing 16,337 acres between Buckhorn Wilderness and Mount Skokomish Wilderness, it is centered on the Duckabush River and named for The Brothers, a double-summit peak that forms its highest point at 6,866 feet. In the Olympic Mountains’ rain shadow, the area receives relatively moderate precipitation and has a distinct eastern Olympic character. Established by the U.S. Congress in 1984 and administered by the U.S. Forest Service, it is valued for protected backcountry recreation and as a major access point to rugged terrain on the east side of the range.
