The Pleasantville School was a two-story structure with a bell tower, measuring 38 feet by 40 feet, built by Thomas S. Holsinger after Pleasantville Borough purchased it at a cost of $1,500.00. Its first teacher was T.B. Potts in 1879, and its first principal was Cyrus J. Potts in 1880. The school had two additions during its 99 years of existence before it burned down on Jan. 14, 1978, leaving only its bell.
