The Van Liew-Suydam House in Somerset, New Jersey, began in the 18th century as a home built by Peter Van Liew and evolved through later additions and alterations by subsequent owners. Joseph Suydam expanded the house after its original construction, and the largest section that survives today dates to 1875. Its significance lies in that layered architectural history, which reflects multiple periods of construction rather than a single unified design. In October 2019, the property also became a filming location for a Stephen King miniseries starring Julianne Moore and Clive Owen.
