Built in 1855 by Elijah True at the junction of the county road from Napa City and Old Ferry Road, now Soscol, this house stood at a thriving transportation center serving the Soscol Ferry Crossing at the Napa River west of here. The place was called Suscol, a name taken from the Patwin Indian village site on the banks of Suscol Creek east of this place at State Highway No. 29. The house was moved to this site in March 1978, and refurbishing was completed by H.&M. Carroll in December 1979.
