Silver Peak is a 10,820-foot summit in Alpine County, California, in the Sierra Nevada’s Carson-Iceberg Wilderness within Humboldt–Toiyabe National Forest. About 3.2 miles northeast of Ebbetts Pass and 8.5 miles south of Markleeville, it rises sharply above Noble Canyon, gaining roughly 3,400 feet in 1.6 miles. Highland Peak, 1.63 miles to the south, is its nearest higher neighbor. Runoff from the mountain flows into tributaries of the East Fork Carson River, connecting it to the Carson watershed. In this alpine climate, Pacific weather systems are forced up over the Sierra Nevada, bringing precipitation as rain and snow.
