Originally built in 1948 with much donated labor because the town had limited funds, Lobster Point Lighthouse was designed by Grover S. Perkins and constructed by Winfield C. Littlefield. It was renovated in 1993, when the top section was repaired and covered in fiberglass, with a good portion of the time donated by Richard Damren. It was reconstructed in 2009, when the entire structure was upgraded to give it a more authentic lighthouse appearance, made possible by a generous donation from Richard and Barbara O'Leary. This local landmark continues to function as a pumping station for the Ogunquit Sewer District.
