Morgan Brake National Wildlife Refuge in Mississippi is one of seven refuges in the Theodore Roosevelt National Wildlife Refuge Complex. It blends Mississippi Delta bottomland habitat with a rare stretch of north-facing loess bluffs on its eastern side, a landscape so distinctive that specialists have treated it as a benchmark for other loess bluffs. The refuge is also an important bird habitat, supporting more than 100,000 wintering ducks in recent years and about 250 bird species overall. Its value lies in both conservation and public use, with regulated hunting and year-round fishing in certain waters.
