Lakepoint State Park is a major public recreation area on the north side of Eufaula, Alabama, occupying 1,220 acres along the western shore of Lake Eufaula beside the Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge. Established in 1968 with an initial 768-acre purchase, it expanded in 1974 with campground and day-use facilities and grew into one of Alabama’s more fully equipped state parks. The park offers a lodge, convention center, campground sites, cottages, cabins, marina, pools, trails, and picnic areas, serving both lake recreation and family getaways. After its 18-hole golf course closed in 2015 during a statewide budget crisis, the site was later converted into an off-road vehicle course that opened in 2022.
