Built in 1914, this building served as the second location of the Evangeline Bank & Trust Company until 1976. The bank's original 1906 site was at 102 West Main Street, which is also on the National Register of Historic Places. From 1978 to 2004, the building housed the Ville Platte City Hall, with Mayor Phillip Lemoine Bryan Savant, City Clerk, and City Council members C.J. Dardeau, Carol Alfred, James "Coon” Bordelon, Earl Edward, Freddie Jack, and Bill Jeanmard serving the city.
