Oil extracted from soybeans was used in the paint for early 20 century Ford vehicles. The beans were stored next door and transferred to this building through a chute from an upstairs window to be processed here. Generations prospered because of Henry Ford's foresight, and the community's wealth rests in part on the dedication and hard work of its forbearers in advancing the automobile industry.
