Capt. Ralph Stewart
History
Born in 1749 in Augusta County, Virginia, Ralph Stewart fought at the Battle of Point Pleasant, was appointed a captain in the Revolutionary Army, and was present at the battles of Guilford Courthouse and Yorktown. Around 1800, he became the second settler of Wyoming County along Clear Fork and a charter member of Guyandotte Baptist Church. He died on November 18, 1835, and is buried at Crany.
