Ray Wesley Herrick was named an Honorary Alumnus in 1960, was the father of Kenneth Gilbert Herrick Howe of 1940 and the grandfather of Todd Wesley Herrick Howe of 1960, served as a trustee in 1954, and was an outstanding benefactor of Howe Military School; a statue was donated on October 20, 1960.
