A bell that served as a fire alarm from 1847 to 1921 was erected on July 17, 1972, by the Womens Auxiliary of Yantic Fire Engine Co. No. 1 on the company's 125th anniversary, dedicated to the memory of all deceased members with the words, “They do rest from their labors.”
