Buckskin Gulch is a long slot canyon in southern Utah near the Arizona border within the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness. Extending more than 16 miles, it is one of the main tributaries of the Paria River, which flows into the Colorado River, and is widely regarded as one of the longest and deepest slot canyons in the American Southwest. It is known for its tight, winding passages, with many visitors entering through the narrow Wire Pass tributary. Reached from U.S. Route 89 between Kanab and Page, the canyon is protected by strict rules including required permits, limits on overnight use and group size, and bans on campfires and buried waste.
