Argon Tower is a sandstone pillar in Arches National Park in eastern Utah, rising to 4,750 feet above the desert landscape near Park Avenue Trail. Formed of Entrada Sandstone, it stands out for its abrupt shape, with a steep summit and a tower about 260 feet tall. Runoff from the formation drains through Courthouse Wash toward the Colorado River in a cold semi-arid region of hot summers, cold winters, and sparse precipitation. The tower also holds a place in climbing history: Layton Kor, Bob Bradley, and Charlie Kemp made the first ascent on January 17, 1964, and Kor named it. It later appeared in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989.
