Today, only a few prairies are left in Ohio
Nature
Only a few prairies remain in Ohio today, commonly along railroads, highways, and very old cemeteries because those areas were never plowed or developed. Most of Ohio's prairies, with their fertile soils, were used for farming, and land not used for farming was put to other purposes such as building houses.
