Marie J. Desonier State Nature Preserve is a protected natural area in eastern Athens County, Ohio, in the heavily forested Deep Hollow near the headwaters of Jordan Run. It is valued as a strong example of the local woodland, with relatively few invasive species, and emphasizes the forest itself rather than developed amenities. The preserve’s main feature is the Oak Ridge Trail, a loop with two footbridges that can be walked as a 2-mile route or as a longer 2.5-mile loop. Aside from a small parking area, the preserve has no developed facilities.
