Stockmore Ranger Station is a historic U.S. Forest Service site in Ashley National Forest near Tabiona, Utah, built around 1914 to establish a federal working presence in this remote part of the forest. Its main building is among the earliest surviving structures on the Ashley National Forest built specifically to house a ranger. Named for the nearby former town of Stockmore, which was abandoned after a fraudulent gold strike, the station became a more lasting part of the area’s history. The property later grew into a small complex, reflecting decades of continued use, and is valued for its connection to the early administration of national forests in the American West.
