Bartlett Haystack
Nature
Bartlett Haystack is a mountain in Bartlett, New Hampshire, named for the town and thereby honoring Josiah Bartlett, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and New Hampshire’s sixth governor. It stands between Mount Tremont to the west and Bear Mountain to the southeast across Bear Notch. The mountain is part of the Saco River watershed: water from its east side flows through Albany Brook, from its north side through Stony Brook, and from its south side through Douglas Brook and the Swift River before ultimately reaching the Gulf of Maine.
