Tioga Peak is a mountain in eastern California’s Sierra Nevada, in Mono County near Yosemite National Park. Standing in the Hoover Wilderness within Inyo National Forest, it rises near Tioga Pass at the head of Lee Vining Canyon. The mountain is notable for how easily it can be reached: Highway 120 crosses its south and east slopes, and its summit is accessible from Gardisky Lake by an easy scramble. Its top forms a broad rolling dome with expansive views over the Tioga Pass area, including Mount Dana. A rounded mass of metamorphic rock in an alpine climate, it sheds runoff into Lee Vining Creek, which ultimately flows to Mono Lake.
