Frank W. Barker, George J. Kennedy, Walter James, Earnest R. Tippin, and Frank J. Vitale were members of Civilian Conservation Corps Company 1212 at Paradise Camp F-5 who gave their lives while fighting a fire about three miles east of this point on July 28, 1939, in the conservation of Nevada's natural resources.
