Wooddale Bridge spans Red Clay Creek at Wooddale in northern Delaware and is a rare part of the state's covered-bridge heritage. Originally built around 1850, it used Ithiel Town's lattice truss design and was one of only two surviving covered bridges from the many once shown along the creek on an 1868 map. Its significance was recognized with listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. After flooding from Tropical Storm Henri destroyed the older bridge in 2003, Delaware rebuilt it in 2007 and 2008, raising the roadway and enlarging openings to better resist floods while preserving it as a working crossing.
