Bonita Falls, on an unnamed tributary of the South Fork Lytle Creek in the San Bernardino National Forest, is widely regarded as the forest’s second-tallest waterfall and one of Southern California’s tallest. In the lower canyon, its visible sequence consists of a 195-foot cascade, a 45-foot slide, and a steep 160-foot plunge, with two additional upper drops bringing its total height to about 400 to 495 feet depending on what is counted. Usually flowing year-round, it is a popular short hike and a notable destination in the San Bernardino Mountains, despite graffiti and litter in parts of the canyon.
