Eagle Rock Reservation is a 408.33-acre forest reserve and recreational park on First Watchung Mountain in New Jersey, spanning West Orange, Montclair, and Verona. Managed by the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, it preserves wooded high ground in the Watchung Range, including Eagle Rock, a bare outcrop on the Montclair-West Orange boundary. The Lenape Trail and forest streams run through the park, which supports wildlife such as deer and occasional bears. Its Highlawn Pavilion occupies a building once used as a country house and later for refreshments. After September 11, the reservation also became a place of remembrance, with a memorial overlook dedicated in 2002 to those killed at the World Trade Center and on the two planes that struck the twin towers.
