John Adams of Pennsylvania built a saw mill here in 1831, entered land in 1832, and added a flouring mill in 1835-36. The present building was erected in 1845 and restored by M. & Mrs. Claude Sheets in 1840. Boliver Village was platted around the mill in 1837, and the Wild Cat P.O. was in the mill from 1850 to 1894. Warren Adams ran the mill after 1861. A Masonic lodge was organized at the mill in 1864, and the covered bridge was built in 1872.
