The Herrett Center for Arts and Science on the College of Southern Idaho campus in Twin Falls combines anthropology, natural history, astronomy, and art, with collections focused on artifacts and specimens from the Americas and work by local artists. It grew from Norman Herrett’s private observatory, home-built planetarium, and exhibition spaces developed from the 1950s onward, then moved to the college under a 1972 agreement. The museum opened there in 1980, shortly after his death, and later expansions added galleries, the Faulkner Planetarium, artifact storage, the Rick Allen Room, and the Centennial Observatory, making the center a major educational and cultural resource for the region.
