Deep Creek Falls
Nature
Deep Creek Falls is a waterfall in Gibson Canyon at the south end of Warner Valley, east of Lakeview in south-central Oregon, beside Oregon Route 140. Easily reached by short unmarked paths, it has long served as a convenient roadside stop for travelers, anglers, and cyclists on the Oregon Outback Scenic Bikeway. The falls are also ecologically important because they limit upstream movement for some fish species, leaving the Warner sucker only below the falls and separating native redband trout into upstream and downstream groups. At the same time, brook trout and hatchery fish can pass beyond the barrier, while the surrounding cliffs support cliff swallows, falcons, and eagles.
