On the morning of May 1, 1865, at approximately 7:40 a.m., Abraham Lincoln’s funeral train made a brief stop at Wanatah Station of the Monon Railroad. The train traveled 1,700 miles from Washington, DC to Springfield, Illinois, retracing the route Abraham Lincoln had taken to Washington on his original campaign trail.
