Los Angeles Harbor Light, also known as Angels Gate Light, stands on the San Pedro Breakwater at the Port of Los Angeles as a historic harbor lighthouse listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally planned as a wooden, square, two-story building, it was instead constructed of steel-reinforced concrete anchored to a concrete block, making it the only lighthouse built to that design. Its most unusual feature is an emerald-colored beam, a rarity in the United States and described as unique worldwide. Restored after serious weather damage by 2012, it remains a distinctive landmark at the harbor entrance and an unusual example of California lighthouse design.
